| Actually, Stone
Mountain is not in Atlanta but we just couldn't leave Atlanta out.
To the best of our knowledge, this is the only RV Park with access
to Atlanta's Metropolitan Area Rapid Transit System ('MARTA'). You
can catch a bus in Stone Mountain (currently route 120) which
will take you to to their Avondale Rail Station. See

I-20 exit 67 to I-285 north; then go about 7.5 miles to I-285 exit 39-B.
Heading east on 78 go about 7 miles on US-78 east to the Stone Mountain
exit. Exit onto Jefferson Davis Dr, pay your admission fee ($8 last we
heard) and they will direct you to the campground as well as give you
some printed matter. And enjoy the park - it's great fun not only for
the kids but for us old timers! * It really isn't as expensive as this looks. They have combo tickets (e.g., 'Adventure Pass' and 'Annual Pass' which can really cut the cost. See StoneMtn for details. |

I-20 exit 67 to I-285 north; then go about 7.5 miles to I-285 exit 39-B.
Heading east on 78 go about 9 miles on US-78 east. You will exit the
freeway at its end, cross East Park Place (stoplight). Watch for Dunkin'
Donuts and Baskin Robbins on you left followed by their blue sign with
an American Flag. That marks their driveway (also on your left). Note: no toilets or showers & no Internet. |
